Comedy Hullabaloo, a five-day comedy spectacular, presented by Underbelly in association with Stratforward and the Royal Shakespeare Company, takes place over the late May bank holiday weekend. STRATFORD UPON AVON 2015 POETRY FESTIVAL 2 JULY - 2 AUGUST
The 2015 festival details are to be announced shortly. The 2014 festival included the work of Dylan Thomas, Seamus Heaney, poets of the First World War and more. With a local poetry evening, children's events, free poetry workshops and Poet in residence, Jo Bell, there was something for everyone to discover and enjoy. Annual fun fair in the town's streets, but historically, a MOP Fair was a hiring fair. Farm workers, labourers, servants and some craftsmen would work for their employer from October to October. At the end of the employment they would attend the Mop Fair dressed in their Sunday best clothes and carrying an item signifying their trade. A servant with no particular skills would carry a mop head – hence the phrase Mop Fair.

SHAKESPEARE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS - 23 APRIL 2016
A unique event in Stratford upon Avon to mark the birth of William Shakespeare, the world’s greatest playwright and in 2016, extra special, as it will also be the 400th anniversary of his death.
The birthday weekend brings together performers, artists, the local community and ambassadors from around the world to celebrate the life and works of William Shakespeare. The town’s streets overflow with music, pageantry and drama, with a packed programme of activities to suit everyone. The highlight of the event is the Birthday Parade, unfurling of the nations flags and the procession of dignitaries and invited guests passing buildings and places that were part of Shakespeare's life and ending where he was laid to rest in Holy Trinity Church on the banks of the river Avon.

STRATFORD FESTIVAL OF MOTORING, SUNDAY 1 AND MONDAY 2 MAY 2016
The very popular Festival of Motoring is organised by Stratforward, (the town’s Business Improvement District) and Shakespeare Country and takes place over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The event will see around 500 classic and special interest vehicles on display, in the streets throughout the historic town and most of the streets are pedestrianised to showcase the vehicles. There is an organised scenic drive around a choice of routes through stunning local countryside.
It's a real family occasion with special events and activities for children, eateries, shops and markets, and free, quality musical entertainment.
